Hey Everyone. I'm Luis.

I am currently finishing my Bachelor’s Degree at Technical University Munich in Biochemistry.      Feel free to scroll down and get to know me!

This is Why You Need Me!

I live for what I do. During my studies and work in various laboratories, I found myself to be endlessly enthralled by the complex mechanisms of cells and the human body. It’s inspiring to consider the myriad processes taking place in such a minuscule and seemingly unoberservable dimension. My fascination for biochemistry is fueled by the idea that through exploring these unseen realms, we get to the bottom of the mysteries of life itself, paving the manner for breakthroughs which can doubtlessly revolutionize healthcare and humanity’s future.

As a passionate individual in the field of biochemistry, I like the challenge of unveiling the underlying reasons behind experimental outcomes. By hiring me, you’ll gain a resourceful and interested team member who relentlessly seeks answers.

My Practical Experience

since 09/2020

Lab Internships, TUM Bachelor
During my bachelor’s degree at TUM I gained insights into many different fields of research. These experiences reaching from organic, anorganic and physical chemistry to biological chemistry and cellular biochemistry confirmed my interest in cellular mechanisms, their modification and analysis of results.

04-09/2022;          again: 04-09/2023

Tutor for the Lecture ‘Organic Chemistry 1’ TUM Prof. Dr. Sieber
As OC1 tutor I organized and held two practice lessons per week for my fellow students during my fourth and sixth semester.

10/2022 – 01/2023

Student Assistant Chair of Plant Systems Biology TUM Prof. Dr. Schwechheimer
During my time as Student Assistant I focussed on biological-physical protein transport assays under the supervision of PD Dr. Ulrich Hammes. The Nanion SURFE2R pipetting robot allows the measurement of membrane potential change due to transport of proteins in liposomes.

03/2023 – 04/2023

Research Internship Chair of Plant Systems Biology TUM Prof. Dr. Schwechheimer
In the following internship my focus shifted to three major projects. These included the genotype analysis of plants from their leaves using PCR. Furthermore, I performed a cloning project, in which I rearranged the pin domains in a total of 4 constructs on pOO2 vectors. In my last project I performed a Radioactive Oocyte Transport Assay of PIN proteins. This included the injection and expression of PIN protein mRNA into oocytes, followed by the injection of the radioactively marked PIN substrate ‘auxine’.

10/2023 – 02/2024

Bachelors Thesis, Group of Dr. Brenda Schulman MPI Biochemistry
The group of Prof. Dr. Brenda Schulman at the Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry focussed their research on the cellular Ubiquitin system.
